What to expect at Berlin Beer Week

Berlin Beer Week features an exciting and varied programme to showcase the diversity of brewing in the German capital. This year you can also expect guest breweries from all over the world.

Some of the highlights of this year's programme include:

  • Opening party
  • Six Brews Cruises, each with a different theme
  • More than 30 events at bars and breweries all over Berlin

Expect "Tap Takeovers" with some of the best breweries from Europe and even the USA! Most international guest breweries are celebrating their first time in Germany. But visitors can also prepare for a guided beer hike through Berlin, food pairings, beer quizzes, live music, special tasting sessions and much more. The only limit is your imagination.

The Berlin Beer Week festival programme is already live on the Berlin Beer Week website for you to check out. Most events are free to attend, but for some you will need tickets. So go check it out - and book fast to get your spot.

Embark on a Brews Cruise

The biggest and unmissable highlight from Berlin Beer Week 2023 is an old time classic: the Brews Cruise! And this year, there's not just one, but six cruises in total: three cruises on Saturday, September 2 and three cruises on Sunday, September 3.

Each cruise has a different theme and promises up to 30 beers on tap, a live DJ on board and amazing views from the water. Two out of six cruises have already sold out, so get your tickets for the remaining cruises fast!!

This year’s festival beer: Spirit Helper

This year’s festival beer will again be a blast - a very special one. It's the first year that a non-Berlin brewery took part in the brewing. Spirit Helper was brewed by Fuerst Wiacek (Berlin) and Maisel & Friends (Bayreuth). The style was picked through an Instagram poll by the Berlin Beer Week fans. It can be described as a double dry hopped hazy IPA with a 5,4% alcohol content.

The experience and tradition of Maisel & Friends, together with Fuerst Wiacek's desire to experiment and learn, complement each other and represent the spirit of this collaboration. As in the old favourite movie The Karate Kid, Maisel & Friends represents the Spirit Helper, and Fuerst Wiacek the Grasshopper.

Six featured breweries from North Carolina and Tennessee

The lineup of US breweries will showcase the best breweries from North Carolina and Tennessee. These breweries celebrate their premiere in Germany and are among the top tier in the USA. After the US beer Tap Takeover, there will be a big afterparty at Bräugier Ostkreuz featuring the six breweries from North Carolina and Tennessee!
