French Week Heidelberg takes place this October, with around 50 events relating to French and Franco-German culture!

Expect to immerse yourself in theatre, literature, music, dance, acrobatic spectacles and so much more. French Week Heidelberg (Französische Woche Heidelberg) is organised by the Franco-German Cultural Association. 

The programme is extremely diverse and eclectic, ranging from literature and film events to circus performances or a French knowledge quiz!

French Markets

The markets are always a big draw for French Week. Here are some of the markets taking place:

Craft and Photo Day

The Saturday market on Wilhelmsplatz, Heidelberg Weststadt, will take on a French theme on Saturday, October 11, featuring French photography, handicrafts, and culinary products.

French Book Flea Market

At Montpellier House, you can browse French-language books at the French book flea market. If you have books in French to give away, you can donate them here too! 

French music

A French-themed event would not be complete without French music. Here are some of the music events taking place:

Chansons will be sung with heart and sensitivity, from the great classics as well as selected unrecognised gems, and maybe even songs that you haven't heard! You can also go on a musical journey and enjoy French music from the Romantic period to the Belle Époque!
