Prepare for the fireworks spectacular of the year, as the Pyronale World Fireworks Championship returns to Berlin once more.
Taking place at the Olympic Stadium, the historic Maifeld bell tower acts as the ideal backdrop for this firework extravagance! The annual competition sees six international teams go head to head, putting on the most creative displays possible to win over the jury as well as the audience.

What is Pyronale?
Pyronale is a firework championship that consists of six international teams coming together to put on the most astonishing pyrotechnics displays to music. Teams from across Europe come to the Berlin Olympic Station for two evenings at the end of August to showcase the best of their skills.
Each of the six teams creates two different elaborate firework displays in order to win the audience’s favour and, hopefully, the Pyronale trophy. One display is part of a set programme and must be developed matching a pre-selected music specification and colour theme, while the other is a freestyle show, in which the team can select their own music and colours.

Audience live voting
A jury panel of experts determines the winning champion of the Pyronale based on the show's creativity, special effects, use of colour and synchronization to the music, as well as the artistic and technical execution - but they are not alone when it comes to declaring a winner.
On both Pyronale evenings, the audience is also able to cast their vote for their favourite team! This vote contributes to 30 percent of the overall ranking, meaning that an audience favourite may tip the scales. The award ceremony takes place on the second evening, when the winning team is presented with a trophy.
