From October, people in Germany will be able to visit participating cinemas an unlimited number of times if they pay 12,50 euros per month for the Cinfinity app.
Cinfinity app to launch in Germany this October
A new app called Cinfinity is coming to Germany this autumn. For just 12,50 per month, Cinfinity subscribers will be able to make an unlimited number of trips to participating cinemas.
Once subscribers have signed up - they have to be over 18 to do so - their membership will be valid for a minimum of four months, after which it will automatically renew each month unless it is cancelled.
The new project is funded by the German Federal Film Board (FFA) and was founded by cinema owners Ralf Thomsen and Martin Turowski. “By cinemas for cinemas!”, the project aims to boost cinema attendance figures which have been dwindling since the mid-2000s and compounded by the coronavirus pandemic.
Which cinemas are part of the Cinfinity subscription?
At the moment, it is unclear which cinemas will be taking part in the subscription model and no participating cinemas are listed on the Cinfinity website.
Prospective subscribers are encouraged to let their favourite cinema know about the app’s October launch. Watch this space for more information coming soon.
