Let’s face it: May so far has been a damp squib, more like April 2.0 with plenty of cool, changeable weather in Germany. It therefore brings us great pleasure to announce that better things are on the way as June arrives next week!

Drastic improvement in weather in Germany this weekend

But before we get to the good stuff, we’ve got a few more days of clouds and rain showers to get through. Especially in southern Germany, Thursday and Friday are going to be wet, with temperatures hovering between a measly 10 and 15 degrees.

Towards the end of Friday, however, things will start to improve, very rapidly, as a friendly weather front drives in from western Europe, causing the rain to subside. According to the meteorologists at wetter.net, this makes way for some balmy temperatures and sunny skies.

It’s at the weekend that things will really kick into gear, with plenty of sunshine on the cards for most regions in Germany, particularly the northeast, north and west of the country, where the temperature will suddenly shoot up to anywhere between 20 and 25 degrees. Things will be a little cooler in the southeast, where maximum values of around 17 degrees are expected.

Sunday will also be a dry and sunny day, with highs between 21 and 25 degrees across the whole country.

Next week to be sunny, with highs of up to 30 degrees

This happy situation will continue into next week, as the arrival of June brings more warm weather. On Monday, the high is expected to be between 20 and 27 degrees, with the hottest temperatures in the western part of the country. On Tuesday, the meteorological start of summer, the good weather will continue. According to wetter.net, the temperature could even hit 30 degrees in the Rhine Valley.

And the best news is - this good weather looks set to stay for the time being. It’s hard to predict accurately further ahead, but the models suggest that a dramatic fall in temperatures is not on the cards. All hail the arrival of summer.
