What you'll do
As part of RISE with SAP, several strategic and very large customers start their transformation journey towards Cloud along with SAP ECS using an enhanced delivery model. The ECS Large Customer Operations Organization (LCO) has been set up to provide the strategic focused service with a dedicated team within SAP Enterprise Cloud Services for these large strategic customers. While acting in LCO as Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will focus in your area of expertise to optimize all related activities, from planning to execution, implementation and operational support and have the team trained to scale.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and action‑oriented colleague who is willing to take ownership and accountability to help our team to reach the next level for excellent & enhanced service delivery. Your key responsibilities and tasks include:
- Represent the entire portfolio set of value‑add services in SAP’s Enterprise Cloud Services engagements
- Analyse current landscape setups, goals and challenges in order to suggest ECS continuous improvement solutions and innovation
- Executing proactive periodic support and maintenance activities
- Design software lifecycle procedures in strong collaboration with ECS cloud operations and support application service delivery in all lifecycle phases
- Define roadmap for innovation adoption together with subject matter experts and collaborate with different teams to ensure excellent customer satisfaction
- Drive Customer Success for ECS LCO delivering expected outcomes to the customer
- Focus on continuous improvement and innovation opportunities based on the ECS Portfolio
- Mentor and Guide junior members of the team
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, Mathematics or comparable.
- 7+ years of Technical Operations as Database Administrator in Global Operations team on SAP HANA and/or ASE Database Platforms
- Experienced IT system landscape architect with proven track record of leading complex architecture setups across distributed systems in the context of SAP Technology.
- Technical experience on ECS supported hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, GCP) as well as on private cloud. Hyperscaler certification is a plus.
- Strong technical experience with end‑to‑end automation for provisioning and operating SAP system landscapes and their life cycle management.
- Deep knowledge of operating systems – Operating system advanced Certification RHEL or SUSE is plus.
- Exposure to the automation tools / scripting or processes
- DB installations and upgrade, Planning, setup and implementation.
- Providing technical expertise and support in optimizing and tuning of Systems, Performance Optimization.
- DB Concept on Security, Backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, System Copies, high availability and disaster recovery strategy, export‑import, replication is must.
- Good to have Professional Certification of Database Platforms with exposure to Project Management tasks including PMP and ITIL certification
- High degree of personal maturity, an orientation to goals and success, and an ability to work well with highly technical experts
- Experience in handling arising Security Issues is of benefit
