What you'll do
Systems Management and Administration
- Administer internal Linux/Solaris/Windows development systems (Converged Cloud & On-Premise), focusing on backward release validation
- Perform regular SAP system upgrades at database and OS level in development environments
- Support DB/OS patch installations and prepare systems for moving across data center locations
- Maintain and update system lists and help planning consolidation
Development and Quality Assurance
- Support developer testing in SAP Kernel, Database Interfdace (DBSL), and help implementing developer tests in internal ABAP Verification Framework
- Contribute to ABAP development and integration testing for planned backward releases of Oracle Database 19c and 23ai
What you bring
- Experience with Systems Management and -Administration on Linux/Unix/Windows Platforms, Shell Scripting, Python
- Good Understanding of Systems Architecture, (optional) Server Hardware, Cloud Infrastructures
- Good Understanding of Operating Systems and Database Architectures, preferably Oracle Products and Operation
- Basic Knowledge in Shell Scripting, CSH
- (optional) Experience w. Programming Languages C, C++, Python and ideally ABAP
- (optional) Knowledge in SAP System Administration Tasks
- Fluent in English and basic German language skills

Context of the project
The Oracle & DB joint engineering team within BTP Infrastructure Platforms ensures high-quality support and performance for various Oracle database releases and operating systems like Solaris and Oracle Linux.
Goal of the project
To support our technical staff, it is required to maintain internal development and testing system infrastructure, keep it up to date as well as supporting in data center management and coordination tasks. Further it is intended to build basic knowledge of development tasks being conducted in C/ABAP Language to support integration of Oracle Platforms for SAP Netweaver-based products.
