Mandatory Internship Research and Evaluation of Innovative Concepts for a Servo Motor
About this role
Your tasks
Are you a forward-thinking student with a passion for electromechanics and a drive to innovate? Join our team to research and evaluate concepts for the next generation of servo motors! This is a unique opportunity to delve into the interplay of mechanics and electromagnetics, optimizing components like the stator and rotor to achieve higher levels of power density, efficiency, and thermal performance.
- During your internship, you will conduct a systematic analysis of the interaction between mechanical tolerances and electromagnetic forces to identify strategies for reducing the air gap in servo motors, while considering manufacturing tolerances and structural strength.
- You will contribute to the conceptual design and comprehensive evaluation of innovative stator and rotor geometries to improve thermal management and enhance power density.
- Furthermore, you will investigate various factors influencing the motor's efficiency and thermal performance. This includes evaluating the impact of housing design, optimizing cooling fins, exploring material usage, and developing measures to increase the copper fill factor.
Your profile
- Education: advanced studies in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or comparable
- Experience and Knowledge: basic knowledge of electrical engineering, particularly servo motors, synchronous motors and/or reluctance motors
- Personality and Working Practice: you are open-minded and curious about new technologies, a team player motivated to drive innovative solutions with a structured and results-oriented approach
- Work Routine: presence at the location is required
- Languages: good in English and German
