Your tasks
- During your thesis you will actively participate in the development of novel microfluidic components specifically tailored for advanced liquid biopsy applications.
- You will immerse yourself in a broad spectrum of state-of-the-art techniques. You will gain hands-on experience with biochemical, genetic, and microfluidic methodologies, building a comprehensive skill set.
- Furthermore, you will conduct thorough literature reviews and experimentally validate scientific hypotheses, utilizing patient samples.
- Within our highly interdisciplinary team you will regularly document your work, evaluate experimental results, engage in stimulating discussions and present your findings to contribute to collective knowledge and project progression.
Your profile
- Education: Master studies in the field of Engineering or Natural Sciences, preferably Biology, Biotechnology, Medical Technology or comparable with excellent academic performance
- Experience and Knowledge: practical experience in molecular biology and microscopy; a very good general understanding of physical processes, especially in biochemistry and microfluidics is a significant advantage; prior experience with design and lab-on-a-chip systems is a plus
- Personality and Working Practice: you are open to experimentation, independent, goal-oriented, structured, and motivated to approach problems creatively and innovatively
- Enthusiasm: for interdisciplinary scientific work
- Languages: fluent in English and/or German
