Senior Category Manager - Maternity cover(all genders)

Role: As a Senior Buyer in Beauty (Maternity Cover, 12 months), you will join a high‑performing team shaping the future of skincare at Zalando, taking ownership of a brand portfolio, leading junior buyers and collaborating closely with Merchandising. Responsibilities: - Drive portfolio excellence: proactive ownership, creative direction, identify skincare trends. - Strategic brand acquisition: hunt and onboard new brands, leverage marketing insights. - Partner for performance: define strategy with Merchandising, manage budgets, take data‑driven actions to maximise profit. - Master negotiations: negotiate optimal terms with external partners. - Build relationships: develop long‑term partnerships with global brand partners. - Cross‑functional collaboration: work with Marketing, Content, Photo Production and Logistics. Qualifications: - Business or comparable background with at least 4 years buying experience in a head‑office or e‑commerce environment. - Deep knowledge of the beauty industry and skincare trends. - Strong analytical skills; proficient in Google Suite and MS Office (Excel). - Proven negotiation skills and track record in business acquisition. - Agile, proactive, organised with a “can‑do” attitude. - Collaborative spirit; enjoy mentoring junior colleagues.
