The biannual fair Tollwood returns for its winter edition this November, bigger and brighter than ever before! The festive “Market of Ideas”, full of handicrafts and organic German delicacies, will put you in the Christmas spirit, while preformers and musicians set the tone for the Tollwood Winter Festival!
Festive spirit at the Tollwood Winter Festival
Taking place at the Theresienwiese in the heart of Munich, Tollwood is a biannual festival (the summer edition takes place in June and July) focused on culture and the environment. For the winter months, the entertainment programme is accompanied by a festive market.
This year’s edition of the Tollwood Winter Festival will see an extensive display of arts, concerts, crafts, culinary delights, and much more! Highlights include performances from Machine de Cirque and other concerts in the Grand Chapiteau tent. Live music acts of various genres will take place during the festival at the Hexenkessel, with concerts happening every day.
For families with kids, there is the children's tent where they have arts and crafts ready, as well curling lanes for a more sporty activity. Near the end of the year, there will also be the New Year's Eve Part with live music and DJ sets in areas throughout the festival. Alternatively, the Tollwood Winter Festival also hosts the New Year's Eve Gala with a five-course organic meal and entertainment. At midnight, a traditional waltz will be played on the festival grounds where visitors are encouraged to dance.
If visitors get hungry they can spot by the “Market of ideas” and "Food Plaza" for some delicious culinary treats and German beer, or browse through the many festive stalls offering Christmas goodies like handicrafts and decorations.
