From November 17 until December 23, enjoy the scent of roasted almonds, potato pancakes, hot chocolate and mulled wine in the crisp, winter air. There are over 170 stalls with a variety of goods with everything from Christmas decorations to the perfect gift for a loved one. The market has a wintery ambience that is great for families with the city centre twinkling with fairy lights, making the entire market look like a festive dream.
The Christmas Market in Essen is one of the most beautiful in all of Germany and is very well known for its diversity and variety. A fantastic highlight is the “X-mas lounge” on Kennedyplatz which combines a Christmas market café and sales stalls on 300 square metres and over two floors. There is also an outdoor terrace to enjoy hot chocolate and cake while gazing over the beautiful city.
