Foresight Film Festival - Berlin
Where Science meets Vision, this film festival invites its viewers to join it on a journey into the future to explore what the world can and will look like. Taking place for the fourth time this year, and for the first time in Berlin, Foresight Film Festival is dedicated to highlighting the best of science and cinematography.
Foresight Film Fest: Where science meets film
Moving from its old home in Halle (Saale), this year the Foresight Film Festival will take place in Berlin for the first time, as part of the annual programme of Urania Berlin, one of the oldest science centres in the world. Different visionary leaders from science, film and other sectors are invited to come together to discuss this year’s film festival topic “Top - Below - Vision finds a City!” during a special evening.
The films screened ahead of this evening's event, which were selected in advance by a panel of experts, cover a variety of genres, from documentaries to experimental films and animations. A short presentation of all the selected films, conversations with the filmmakers will take place, offering the audience deeper insights into the ideas and thoughts behind the films.
“Top - Down: Vision finds a City”
As always, the fourth edition of the Foresight Film Festival is dedicated to science. The audience can look forward to a thought-provoking opening discussion with researcher Dr Ing Petra Schaper-Rinkel and Dr Ralf B. Wehrspohn from the Fraunhofer Institute IMW, led by Yve Fehring, presenter of 3sat science programme Nano.
In addition to screening the film festival showreel on September 26, four awards and the Audience Award, totalling 5.000 euros, will be handed out to the filmmaker winners during the evening. Afterwards, DJ Discjockey will perform for the afterparty.
