Impark Summer Festival
Prepare for a summer full of fun in the sun at the Impark Summer Festival! Taking place annually at the Olympic Park in Munich, the festival offers visitors a holiday getaway vibe right in the city itself.
Offering everything from fairground rides and music performances to food and outdoor activities such as wakeboarding and stand up paddle boarding, Impark Summer Festival lifts the idea of a fun family day out to the next level.
Rides, music and more at Impark Summer Festival
One of the most popular areas of Impark Summer Festival remains the Budenstraße, which features over 100 rides and stands. Funfair staples such as the Ferris Wheel and crazy spinning wheel can be found here, as well as rides for the younger festival goers, like the "wild mouse" and bumper cars. Bonus - Tuesdays are marked as Children's Days, with reduced prices at stands until 6pm!
If you are looking to grab a snack, or try traditional German delicacies, then pay a visit to the Feinschmeckergasse which offers everything from Asian specialities to local Bavarian dishes and vegetarian meals. Tip: Different bands also perform here throughout the evening, with the musical genres as varied as the food on offer.
Looking to lounge the day away, sipping cocktails in the sun as if you're by the coast in Italy? Then pay a visit to Capri Bar by the lake, which is sure to bring out "La Dolce Vita" you've been waiting for.
Impark Summer Festival - fun for the whole family
If live music is your jam, then head over to the Seebühne, where the Theatron Musiksommer will host a series of free concerts from established bands and newcomers from Munich and further every day from 7pm.
For the shoppers among us, there will also be a midnight bazaar (aka flea market) organised on Saturday, August 3. More than 200 stalls will offer second-hand goods from 3 pm to midnight, accompanied by street food and live music. In addition, there will also be a children's flea market on August 10th and an antique market, from August 16 to 18.
But wait - there's more! The Olympic Park will be bathed in brightly coloured lights for two evenings during the festival, when fireworks displays fill the sky on August 1 and August 14. The festival will be open until 11.30 pm on both days, so be sure to be there on time!
