Several outdoor swimming pools in Berlin will extend their summer season into the later weeks of September. Here’s what the capital’s aquaphiles should know:
Berliner Freibäder likely open for longer in September
Berliner Bäderbetriebe (BBB), the company which runs Berlin’s public pools, has announced that it is extending its summer season at several of the capital’s outdoor pools.
Following the summer season, Berlin’s outdoor pools typically close in the first week of September. However, a relatively rainy summer means BBB is looking to balance the books.
If the weather stays dry in the coming weeks, the company plans to leave some outdoor pools open until late September.
Which Berlin outdoor pools are open in September?
The extent to which BBB plans to extend the season varies from pool to pool. Below you can find a detailed list of the new, temporary opening hours at each pool where the season has been extended:

- Strandbad Wansee: Open until September 14, between 10am and 6pm
- Sommerbad Wuhlheide: Open until September 14, between 9am and 4.30pm, closed Saturdays
