German lottery winner leaves 11,3 million euros unclaimed

A lucky lottery player in Baden-Württemberg has won 11,3 million euros but, three years later, still has not collected their winnings - and he or she is running out of time!

The money must be claimed by the end of 2020

The cash prize of 11,3 million euros has remained unclaimed for three years. The mystery winner drew the top ticket in 2017 but has not come forward to claim their prize. The managing director of the State Toto-Lotto, Georg Wacker, said they have searched for the ticket owner without any success.

The winner now has until New Year's Eve 2020 to cash in their golden ticket. If they do not claim their winnings by then, the money will be put back into the Lotto raffle pot, so that players all across Germany can get the chance to win other prizes such as cars, or cash sums.

Winner possibly from the city of Reutlingen

The lucky player submitted their winning lottery numbers at a lotto point in Reutlingen, a small city in southern Germany, close to Stuttgart, in 2017, meaning they are likely from the city. Out of a population of 115.000, it shouldn't be too difficult to find the winner - it could even be you, a member of your family, or a friend!

So get checking your handbags and coat pockets - the winning ticket has to be handed in by December 31, 2020.
