Senior Frontend Software Engineer / Lounge by Zalando (all genders)

Role: Senior Frontend Engineer for Lounge by Zalando, enhancing the customer experience on the web app using ReactJS, TypeScript, NodeJS and integrating REST APIs, contributing to an AI‑powered shopping assistant. Responsibilities: - Shape the Innovate mission and build solutions for Lounge web applications. - Own and drive frontend delivery within the squad, architecting and delivering customer‑focused features. - Align with cross‑functional stakeholders, shape requirements and influence technical direction. - Define the path through ambiguity, represent frontend engineering and drive end‑to‑end delivery. - Design scalable, performant, maintainable systems and set frontend standards for the squad. - Collaborate with other frontend engineers, share best practices and elevate technical standards. Qualifications: - 5+ years of hands‑on experience with React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, Tailwind and Node.js. - Proven ability to deploy and operate applications in cloud‑native infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes) with focus on observability, automated testing and continuous delivery. - Passion for usability and accessibility with a strong eye for design and user experience. - Deep proficiency in debugging and performance optimisation of frontend applications. - Experience with micro‑frontends, atomic design and isomorphic rendering in production. - Comfortable using AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude or Copilot.
