Summary & Role Information
As a Senior Technical Project Mgmt Specialist for technical infrastructure projects, you plan, coordinate, and drive complex projects and workstreams within larger product, platform, or infrastructure initiatives. You take ownership of project outcomes, ensure transparency across stakeholders, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver technically robust solutions on time, within scope, and in alignment with quality, security, and operational standards. In this role, you act as a senior contributor for complex technical and business topics, bringing structure, ownership, and a strong delivery mindset to initiatives involving infrastructure, compute services, virtualization, and operational lifecycle activities.
What You'll do
- Plan, manage, and drive complex technical projects, programs, or workstreams from initiation to delivery.
- Create and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, estimates, resource plans, risk assessments, and status reports.
- Coordinate technical infrastructure lifecycle activities, including planning, implementation, operational handover, lifecycle changes, and retirement of services or assets.
- Drive planning and execution transparency using project and task management tools such as Jira.
- Monitor progress against milestones, scope, dependencies, risks, and budget constraints; define and follow up on mitigation actions.
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, operations, architecture, data, and vendor-facing teams.
- Ensure alignment with technical standards, architectural frameworks, best practices, and operational governance requirements.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, decision rounds, and stakeholder alignments; document decisions, actions, and follow-ups.
- Provide regular, concise, and meaningful status updates to managers, project stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Support technical trade-off discussions related to feasibility, scalability, performance, reliability, and operational impact.
- Identify and drive process improvements to increase project quality, delivery efficiency, transparency, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, contributing to common ground and effective cooperation.
What you bring
- Degree in (Business) Informatics, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Several years of professional experience in IT, technical project management, infrastructure project coordination, or a comparable role with increasing responsibility.
- Proven experience managing complex projects or larger workstreams independently.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, coordination, risk management, stakeholder management, and progress tracking.
- Basic technical understanding of Linux, KVM, virtualization concepts, and infrastructure or compute environments.
- Ability to work with technical teams and understand infrastructure-related dependencies, constraints, and lifecycle requirements.
- Strong driver mentality: you proactively move topics forward, remove blockers, and keep teams focused on outcomes.
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills with a structured, reliable, and solution-oriented working style.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain processes, dependencies, risks, and decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional, international, and matrixed environments.
- Experience with Jira for planning, tracking, and coordinating project activities.
- English: fluent spoken and written.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with infrastructure lifecycle management, compute operations, or server/service lifecycle processes.
- Basic understanding of modern IT architectures, cloud environments, APIs, or software development lifecycle concepts.
- Experience with agile ways of working such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Project management certifications such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, Scrum Master, or comparable certifications are an advantage.
- Experience working with external vendors, service providers, or managed service environments.
- Experience with reporting, KPIs, dashboards, or analytics.
