About this role
Role: Senior Analyst (all genders) - Logistics Network Planning (Allocation Strategy)
About the Team: We are a highly impactful, tight-knit team responsible for the logistics network setup and assortment allocation initiatives that drive our long-term Logistics Strategy. A massive focus for us is aligning our network and integrating processes to efficiently execute the Strategy. One part of it is harmonizing Assortment Allocation Decisions under the Logistics roof. You will be stepping into a critical, newly created role to bridge this gap. We are migrating major parts of the New Goods Purchase allocation into Logistics Network Planning. This means you will take full ownership of our allocation logic - balancing local speed versus global offering - and ultimately deciding exactly which locations products will be delivered to, and in what quantities, without causing negative business impacts during our ongoing network ramp-ups.
Responsibilities:
- Migrate & Own: You will fully onboard, migrate, and take end-to-end ownership of the New Goods Purchase Order allocation decisions and logic.
- Strategic Transformation & Process Optimisation: You will actively challenge and improve the existing allocation logic to navigate complex challenges, while simultaneously automating and maturing the pipeline to optimise day-to-day execution.
- Stakeholder Alignment: You will lead strategic improvement projects and act as the central node between Logistics Operations, Buying / Merch Planning, and Logistics & Supply Tech teams across the group.
Qualifications:
- True Ownership & Adaptability: You are a self-starter with a hands-on mentality who thrives in a dynamic environment. You easily navigate changing priorities and keep a cool head when dealing with overwhelming datasets or time-sensitive situations.
- Analytical & Collaborative: You love diving deep into complex numbers and models, but you are just as comfortable explaining them to non-technical stakeholders.
- Unafraid of Tech: You won't be writing production code, but you easily navigate technical discussions. You can look at a code snippet without getting overwhelmed, challenge engineering decisions, and happily hack together simple AI-assisted scripts to get the job done.
- Tooling Experience: You have solid experience with Excel / Google Sheets, SQL, and Python, and are comfortable in independently creating and owning data queries.
- Domain Knowledge: Background in Logistics or Supply Chain Management with touch points to Inventory Management or Inventory Distribution is highly beneficial.
What We Offer:
- 27 days of holiday a year to start for full-time employees (+1 day for every calendar year up to 30 days)
- 40% off fashion and beauty products sold and shipped by Zalando, 30% off Lounge by Zalando, discounts from external partners
- Family support, including counselling and dedicated services for parents and carers
