FlixBus to resume service without capacity limits from March 25

From the end of March, the biggest long-distance bus operator in Germany, FlixBus, will resume services, allowing transport connections to recommence on some of its most important routes.

No capacity restrictions

The company has stated that, although there will now be no restrictions on how many people can reserve spots, or where they can sit onboard buses, FlixBus’ services will operate with the highest possible standards of hygiene, and the use of a “capacity display”.

This feature allows customers to see which routes are in the highest demand at which specific times, and is a useful tool for those booking tickets to find out how full their bus will be. Initially, only the 40 most popular routes will begin services again, from March 25. However, it is hoped that if infection rates come under control, more services can be added at a later date.

In normal times, FlixBus operates over 400 routes in Germany alone

The normal FlixBus fleet operates more than 400 routes in Germany alone, with many other services expanding out across Europe. Their iconic green buses and green FlixTrains make the company one of the best-know bus companies in Europe.

The company will begin selling tickets for its resumed services from March 17, 2021, after having been forced to suspend operations for a long time due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany.
