Various theatres Stuttgart

For five days, different groups and artists from across Germany come together to present a series of comedies, sketches, shows and more at a number of theatres across the city of Stuttgart as part of the annual Made in Germany Festival.

A unique experience, this festival aims to show off the city's vibrant and diverse intercultural theatre scene.

Intercultural Theatre Festival Stuttgart

This year sees the 7th edition of the Made in Germany Festival. Welcoming musicians, actors, filmmakers and more of all ages, genders, and backgrounds to Stuttgart, this event aims to show the huge diversity of styles and subjects portrayed on stage.

Organised by the Forum der Kulturen Stuttgart, the festival has partnered with twelve theatres across the city to host eleven different theatre productions, as well as a films, which portray the immigration society of Germany.

Programme highlights for Made in Germany 2022

What sets this festival apart from others is the programme selection. Rather than being made by the organisers, the decision is made by a jury of theatre-interested spectators, whose choice reflects the cultural diversity of Stuttgart’s inhabitants.

Some of the programme highlights include Coffee with Sugar?, by Laia RiCa, is a stage performance between material performance, biography, contemporary, and documentary theatre about the effect of living in two worlds, El Salvador and Germany, and the differences a person has to go through. Additionally, there is also World and Heartbeat - the Mediterranean Chronicles, Bocham Theatre - Who the f*** are you, and Post Theatre - Spookai.
