Düsseldorf Cologne Open Galleries (DC Open) is taking place this August and September, celebrating the art scene in the two German cities. This is the 16th edition of Düsseldorf Cologne Open Galleries, an event that sees numerous art galleries, institutions and studios come together each year to celebrate the opening of the new season.

Düsseldorf Cologne Open Galleries typically sees over 50 art galleries, studios and institutions across the city open their doors to the public, inviting them to come and see new exhibitions. It was created jointly, to honour the creativity and cultural significance of the cities of Düsseldorf and Cologne.

It is both an occasion for casual art lovers to experience art, as well as a meeting point for art professionals and collectors. The sheer variety and number of high-level art organisations and lively venues all contribute to the great reputation of this yearly event.

As well as the best of the contemporary art scene, there will be some exhibitions of big-name modern artists from the past. Warhol, Modigliani, Joseph Beuys and Robert Rauschenberg will all be featured in some galleries or museums.
