Folk Festival Cologne
Deutzer Werft, with its magnificent view of the Rhine, is the setting for a week of fun and frivolity in Cologne at the annual Spring Folk Festival (Volksfest Köln), which attracts around a million visitors each year.
Exciting rides at Folk Festival Cologne
Rollercoasters, waltzers and, of course, a huge Ferris wheel will satisfy thrill-seekers. There's a ghost train, bumper cars and smaller rides for all the children. In addition to the rides, there will be plenty of stalls with games of luck and skill as well as traditional food and drink including Bratwurst, cotton candy and beer.
Friday is "Family Day" at the fair, so there will be special offers for families attending! It draws to a close with spectacular fireworks over the river, drawing crowds from across the city to enjoy the second last evening at the festival.
Visiting the Cologne Folk Festival
