Pop culture provides a space of opportunity, thus, Pop-Kultur Berlin seeks to offer space for unlikely artistic encounters and promote productive exchanges. Musicians, artists, poets, writers and dancers come together in Berlin to perform a series of concerts, shows, installations and more.

About Pop-Kultur Berlin

Pop-Kultur is an international festival built around three elements:

  1. Live events, such as music performances, readings and film screenings.
  2. Talent program (Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs), which connects 250 young talents from around the world with established artists.
  3. Networking, bringing together key figures in the local and international creative industries in a casual setting.

The festival also aims to examine what trends and shifts can be observed within the broader pop culture and, during its events, takes a closer look at some of the current influences, with the aim of strengthening collaboration within the creative industries.

Pop-Kultur 2023 programme

This edition takes place at the iconic Berlin Kulturbrauerei. Artists such as  21 downbeat, Aili, Aka Kelzz & Ria Boss (Accra-Berlin Residency), Albi X, Portrait XO, ARY, Rasha Nahas, Banoffee, BRKN, C'est Karma, Casey MQ, umru, Chrisman & Sara Persico (Kampala-Berlin Residency), Codeine, Crack Cloud, cumgirl8 , and many more will take the stage this year.

Finally, the programme of Pop-Kultur is not limited to music. Artists will present audio-visual performances of various kinds. These performances will be merged into a complete daily programme. Talks questioning the nature and potential of our society, fanfares on a weekly basis, “10 questions with…” interview series with artists, fan art (Jammerpunk) and weekly takeovers of Pop-Kultur’s Instagram account - all of these form parts of the Pop-Kultur supporting programme.
