Tickets for the new European Sleeper night train connecting Brussels, Aachen, Cologne, Zurich and Milan will go on sale this month. The service will hit the tracks in September!
Tickets available soon for Milan night train
European Sleeper has announced that tickets for a new night train route connecting Brussels, Aachen, Cologne, Zurich and Milan will go on sale on March 17, offering people in Germany another transport option to reach the Italian sun.
The night train will also stop in Art-Goldau, Göschenen, Bellinzona, Lugano, and Chiasso in Switzerland, before crossing the Italian border and stopping at Como San Giovanni near Lake Como, and finally at Milan.
The first services are set to hit the tracks on September 9, 2026. Departures will leave Brussels on Monday, Thursday and Saturday evenings and arrive at Porta Garibaldi in Milan the following morning. Return trains will depart Milan on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evenings.
Travellers can pay as little as 29,99 euros for "budget" seats, 49,99 euros for a "classic" compartment with a bed, 99,99 euros for a "comfort Standard" or 129,99 euros for a "comfort plus" cabin.
European Sleeper launches crowdfunding campaign
This will be the third night train route operated by the Dutch-Belgian train company. One route currently connects Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Dresden and Prague; the second connects Paris and Berlin (adding stops in Brussels and Hamburg from July 2026).
From 2027, the rail operator plans to add an alternative route to Milan, which starts in Amsterdam and then follows the Aachen-Cologne-Zurich route just announced.
Back in December, the company announced plans to raise 1,3 million euros, inviting “anyone who believes in affordable, comfortable, low-impact travel” to become a co-owner.
Individuals and organisations are able to make investments starting from 140 euros. Anyone investing 2.000 euros or more will receive a 20 percent discount on European Sleeper services in 2026 and 2027.
