Two Berliners were fortunate enough to win a total of 1,5 million euros in two recent lotteries, but are yet to claim their winnings. The city has begun a search for the lucky locals.
An undisclosed Späti in the Steglitz neighbourhood of Berlin is looking for two locals to claim their lottery winnings totalling 1,5 million euros.
A customer who won 400.000 on a ticket bought in the Späti in May has yet to make themselves known to the shopkeeper. Another customer who visited the same lucky Späti is thought to have won 1,1 million euros on a November 16 draw but is also a no-show.
While the search continues, the two winners still have some time to claim their jackpot, the deadline has been set for December 31, 2026.
A previous such case saw someone in Bavaria leave 1 million euros unclaimed from a win in 2019. Placards were hung to help find the winner but to no avail. The winnings were eventually given away to the federal state.
