A German woman called the police after she thought she had found a large snake on the roof of her house, but it turned out to be a far more innocent object...

NRW woman calls police over foam snake

A German woman called the police in Neuss, North Rhine-Westphalia, on August 17 after she believed that she had spotted a large brown snake on the roof of her house.

Having taken a picture of what she had seen, the woman showed police the blurry snap once they arrived at her house to help. When police were shown the picture they were also convinced that there was a python, or at least something of the like, to be found on the woman’s roof.

Fire brigade called to look at roofing foam

Once the extended emergency services arrived the events took an unspectacular turn, according to the police in Neuss.

When the fire brigade eventually made it onto the roof of the woman’s house all they found was a slither of expandable building foam.
