Grumpy Santa forced to leave Brandenburg Christmas market after brawl

By Olivia Logan

A very unfriendly Santa was forced to leave a Christmas market in Brandenburg after shouting at guests to whom he had earlier handed out gifts.

Cottbus Santa escorted out of Christmas market

Seasonal stress got to one Santa in Cottbus, leading him to shout at Christmas market guests and eventually be escorted out of the market by German police

The unofficial Santa had originally turned up to the market in good spirits and handed out presents before turning on his adoring crowd. One rule for him and another for the children.

Police announced later that the Santa was just an unknown man, who neither worked for the Christmas market nor had an official Santa licence.

Santa-issued gifts remain a mystery

Once he had calmed down, the Santa impersonator agreed to leave the Christmas market with the police.

However, it is still unknown what the disguised man gave away as gifts and why he lost his temper or turned up as an unsolicited Santa.
