Police were called to a house in Ratzeburg, Schleswig-Holstein after a racoon had barricaded itself in a bedroom using clothes from the wardrobe.

Police called to racoon emergency in Schleswig-Holstein

Police in the district of Harzogtum Lauenburg, east of Hamburg in Schleswig-Holstein, were called to a house when a wild racoon barricaded itself in a bedroom, from which strange noises could be heard.

When police arrived they found that the panicked animal had removed piles of clothes from a wardrobe and used the clothes to barricade the door in the bedroom.

Police unclear on how animal entered the house

In their statement, Ratzeburg police said that it was still unclear as to how the racoon had ended up in the bedroom.

According to the report, a hunter was called to the scene and helped remove the worried animal from the house. Posting on Facebook later, the police confirmed that the animal had died shortly after.
