About this role

At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

WHAT YOU BUILD

In this role, you will help shape how our team engages customers, partners, and the wider government technology community. You will contribute to work that connects innovation, customer needs, and business outcomes. You will support:

  • The creation of thought leadership, customer-facing materials, and industry insights that position the team as a trusted voice in government innovation.
  • Translating complex topics, including digital transformation, AI in government, and public service delivery, into clear narratives for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Building and improving prototypes and demonstrations that show what is possible, support customer conversations, and influence product direction. These may be used in customer meetings, innovation workshops, and industry events.
  • Researching how governments in different countries are adopting AI and digital public services, identifying patterns, and turning them into ideas the team can act on.
  • Preparing presentation materials, supporting internal communication, and helping deliver workshops and industry events.
  • A key focus will be supporting our work to validate and scale AI use cases for government customers.

WHAT YOU BRING

Must have:

  • Enrolled on a Bachelor or Master programme in a relevant field such as computer science, information systems, software engineering, data science, public administration, political science, economics, or business — ideally with at least one year of studies still to go.
  • Strong emphasis on candidates with a background in computer systems, coding, and development who bring a business mindset and can bridge technology with real-world public sector outcomes.
  • Curiosity, structure, and a strong interest in government, public services, innovation, or emerging technologies.
  • The ability to research complex topics, identify patterns, and turn insights into clear content for customer and internal audiences.
  • Good communication skills, a proactive way of working in a team, an eye for detail, and an eagerness to learn.
  • Fluent English and German. Another language is an advantage.

Nice to have:

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, and an interest in learning SAP tools to build demonstrations and digital learning assets.
  • Coursework or experience in data science, international studies, or public sector digital transformation.

WHERE YOU BELONG

SAP's Industry Business Unit for Public Sector is a global team working with governments to change how they budget, buy, manage, and deliver public services. We help public administrations move from slow, fragmented processes towards services that are proactive and responsive, using new technology including artificial intelligence (AI). We work across customers, partners, and SAP product teams, and we help shape what SAP builds for government next.

You will join a high-impact, customer-facing Public Sector team that sits at the intersection of industry advisory, cutting-edge technology, and business development. Working alongside experienced professionals and directly with government customers, you will gain first-hand exposure to enterprise sales cycles, customer engagement, and solution design. You will work hands-on with SAP’s latest technologies — including AI, cloud platforms, and intelligent automation — building prototypes and demonstrations that shape how governments adopt innovation. Guided by a supportive manager, you will develop skills in thought leadership, stakeholder communication, and technology-driven consulting that are highly valued across the industry. This is a rare opportunity to combine technical development with strategic customer impact in one of the world’s leading enterprise software companies.

Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.

This is a SAP global, strategic, paid working student position that provides students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers.
