Schloss and Park Pillnitz, 01326 Dresden

Let yourself be enchanted by the festive wonder of the Christmas Garden in Dresden this holiday season. Wander through this true winter oasis by the Pillnitz Palace and Park, enjoying the warm glow from the beautiful light sculptures.

Glittery festive light installations in Dresden’s Christmas Garden

The palace, a must-see attraction in Germany, and the surrounding park act as the backdrop for the Dresden Christmas Garden. More than 1,5 million lights are used to create unique structures, sculptures and installations that cover a 2-kilometre track, creating a romantic stroll for young and old to enjoy.

See the "Cathedral", a light sculpture made of countless tiny light diodes shaped into a glittering 20-metre-long tunnel that brings the starry sky closer than ever before, and be enchanted by the “Field of Lights”, a light animation that moves to an accompanying song.

Experience Christmas in the special garden

The ideal Christmas outing for the family, there are many other things to explore in the Christmas Garden in Dresden. While wandering down the Christmas trail, why not stop to warm yourself with a regional speciality or a mug of mulled wine by the crackling fire?

For the young and more daring there is even a new open-air ice skating rink! Access to the rink is free to all visitors to the Dresden Christmas Garden, so bring along your own skates for a round or two, or rent a pair on-site for three euros.

Save the moment and win a holiday

This year, capture your most magical moment on camera and you might win a trip to Christmas Garden Barcelona for next year! All you need to do is post your best snapshot from the Christmas Garden with the hashtag #ilovechristmasgarden in your feed on Instagram, and next year you might be getting Christmassy in Spain!
