The British Embassy in Berlin will host two open events for UK nationals on Tuesday, April 30 – one at 3pm and another at 6.30pm.

In cooperation with German partners, the British Embassy in Berlin and British in Germany e.V, this is an ideal opportunity for British citizens to gain more insights on Brexit and how it may affect their rights to live and work in Germany.

Citizen information for British expats in Berlin

Economic counsellor Rachel King will give an update on citizen’s rights and how they can be affected by Britain’s exit from the EU. Engelhard Mazanke, Head of the Berlin Foreigners' Authority (Ausländerbehörde) will explain the registration process in Berlin.

After the talks, there will be an information fair, where attendees can talk to representatives from several key German authorities regarding pensions, health insurance, residency, naturalisation, studying, Erasmus exchanges and working in Germany.

The open afternoon session at the British Embassy will run as follows:

• 2.30pm: Doors open
• 3pm: Speakers
• 3.30pm: Information fair
• 5pm: Finish

• 6pm: Doors open
• 6.30pm: Speakers
• 7pm: Information fair
• 8.30pm: Finish

Security checks at the embassy

Please note that only registered participants can enter the British Embassy in Berlin, and photo ID is required. When entering, all visitors will go through a security check, similar to in the airport.
