The Musikfest is back in Stuttgart this June 18 – July 3, organised by the International Bach Academy Stuttgart, and is ready to take you onto a journey into paradise.

Celebrating Bach at the Musikfest Stuttgart

A dynamic festival with a varied programme covering various locations across Stuttgart, Musikfest Stuttgart is a festival of music that pays homage to one of Germany's most famous composers: Johann Sebastian Bach.

Under the motto of "Into Paradise", this year's festival brings together internationally renowned ensembles and soloists from around the world to present a festival of music at some of Stuttgart's leading cultural institutions. The programme takes in music from the Baroque to the modern and is hosted at a variety of fascinating venues across the city, including concert halls, clubs, churches, museums, and in the open air.

What to expect at Muiskfest 2022

Some of the highlights of the festival in 2022 include ensembles such as Collegium 1704, Voces8 and Concerto Copenhagen, as well as solo stars like Valer Sabadus and Andreas Staier.

Accompanying the musical programme, there is also a unique virtual reality experience taking place in the heart of Stuttgart on Schillerplatz between June 22 and July 3. With the help of reality headsets and headphones, visitors will be able to take a virtual tour of the "Himmelsburg", Bach's former place of work in Weimar, Thuringia, which was destroyed 250 years ago, and hear some of the works he wrote there.
