Stuttgart Lights Up

See the city of Stuttgart come alive with lights, music, shopping and more on this special night! On October 26, various lights installations will illuminate large parts of the city as Stuttgart lights up.

The city lights up in 2019

This year’s event, set to take place a week earlier than usual, will see Stuttgart’s city centre bathed in special lights. Selected artists have created more than 50 diverse light installations to illuminate different areas of the city in a new, fun way.

The new lighting concept, which will be unveiled on the evening of October 26, will be accompanied by an extensive entertainment programme that includes live music performances, a firework show at the Königsbau, stalls and much more. If you happen to get hungry, then stop by one of the many German food and international cuisine booths, or sample some of the local German beer.

An evening of lights, fireworks and shopping

In addition to the new lighting installations, more than 100 retailers are set to keep their doors open until midnight, offering shoppers an extended evening of shopping and entertainment. Several open-air stages will be erected in the city centre as well, where local bands and musicians will keep the crowds entertained.

Attending Stuttgart Lights Up

As the event is spread across the city, we recommend travelling by public transport. All the S-Bahn trains will run the entire evening, making it easier to travel up and down. For more information on the night, please visit the official Stuttgart tourist website.
