Düsseldorf Airport named best airport in Germany

Düsseldorf Airport has been named the best German airport and the 100th-best airport in the world, according to a new ranking by AirHelp.

In its 2025 ranking of the best airports in the world, AirHelp, an online platform which helps passengers seeking compensation for cancelled or delayed flights, has named Düsseldorf Airport among the best airports in the world.

The company assessed airports worldwide based on flight punctuality, customer satisfaction, and the variety of food and shops available. Cape Town Airport in South Africa (8,57 points), Doha Hamad Airport in Qatar (8,52 points) and Riad King Khaled Airport in Saudi Arabia (8,47 points) were named the top three airports in the world.

AirHelp gave the airport in Düsseldorf 7,64 points out of 10. The airport received 7,4 points for punctuality, 8,1 points for customer satisfaction and 7,8 for its food and retail options. It took the 100th spot in the international ranking and was the German airport with the highest score.

How did Germany’s other airports fare in the ranking?

The rest of the major airports in Germany fared pretty average in the ranking. Second to Düsseldorf was BER Aiport in Berlin-Brandenburg. The airport was named the 136th-best in the world and awarded an overall score of 7,51 points out of 10.

Munich made it to 144th place with an overall score of 7,46 points, but scored a high 8,1 in both the customer satisfaction and food/retail option categories. Hamburg followed in 153rd place (7,43 points), Frankfurt in 163rd (7,38 points) and Nuremberg in 182nd (7,28 points).
