Hartmut is a German man with a particular fondness for French baguettes, and Myriam is a French baker who – you guessed it – bakes and sells those very baguettes. Luckily, they live just across the border from each other, meaning that for decades Hartmut and other inhabitants of the German border town of Lauterbach have been able to pop over to buy food from Carling in France.

Coronavirus gets in the way

However, strict coronavirus regulations have prevented such "international trade deals" from happening, leaving Hartmut Fey hungry for baguettes and his dealer Myriam Jansem-Boualit short of some regular and dependable customers.

Thankfully, Myriam has come up with an ingenious solution that keeps both her customers happy, and her business running during these difficult times.

If your curiosity has been piqued, and you're eager to hear more about how Myriam goes the extra mile, the video below from France24 shows exactly how it's done.
