Fullstack Software Engineer (Kotlin/Typescript/React) - Transport Planning Optimization (all genders)

Role: - Fullstack Software Engineer in the Transport Planning Optimization team, part of Zalando's Logistics Technology department in Berlin. - Design and implement systems that enable efficient delivery of millions of items, building and continuously improving a robust Transport Management System. - Create intelligent, scalable solutions for transport planning, from forecasting and scheduling to execution and settlement, leveraging real-time data and advanced algorithms. Responsibilities: - Design, develop, deploy, operate, and improve performant fullstack software solutions using Kotlin for the backend and TypeScript with React for the frontend. - Plan sprints and roadmaps, breaking down feature requests into manageable stories and tasks. - Implement and fully test new features before production deployment using continuous delivery. - Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to align timelines and priorities for smooth operations. - Continuously improve the code base, enhance personal skillset, and mentor colleagues. Qualifications: - 4‑5 years of professional experience as a software engineer in JVM‑based languages, with proven proficiency in Kotlin and understanding of SQL and high‑performance database architectures. - Proven experience with modern frontend development using TypeScript and React. - Experience designing and implementing APIs within a microservice landscape on cloud platforms. - Strong sense of reliability, ownership, entrepreneurial and analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, and willingness to share knowledge. - Experience across the full software development lifecycle (requirements, development, build, test, deployment, operations).
