Frankfurt Night of the Museums (Nacht der Museen), is an important landmark on the cultural calendar of the city of Frankfurt am Main. During this annual museum celebration, over 40 museums all over Frankfurt and nearby Offenbach am Main open their doors until the small hours. 

Enjoy your museums of choice until 2am

On Saturday, May 10, 2025, more than 40 of the city’s museums and galleries take part in this special occasion, welcoming visitors inside from 7pm-2am. The public can immerse themselves in exhibitions, live music performances, video installations, poetry recitals, spontaneous theatre performances, dancing and DJs.

Some museums are vast and visitors can easily spend over 3 hours there, whereas others can be enjoyed in less than 30 minutes - that’s why this night is perfect for those who want to mix and match visits to the numerous museums of Frankfurt.

For those feeling ultra curious, there will be many guided tours taking place in some venues. Visitors can also expect some delicious food and refreshing drinks throughout the night.

Shuttle bus and boat included

The ticket includes complimentary access to the shuttle bus and boat that takes visitors from venue to venue, so it’s possible to try and fit in multiple museums, all in one night.

The origin of museum nights

Nowadays, events similar to Frankfurt Night of the Museums take place all over the world. The concept began in Berlin in 1997 with extended hours for visitors to multiple museums all over Berlin, with added entertainment. The idea soon spread to Frankfurt and other German cities, and then began to be adopted abroad. Now, countless cities worldwide hold their own museum nights.

Frankfurt Night of the Museums tickets can be purchased online for just 15,75 euros. The tickets include access to all participating museums on the night of May 4, as well as the special Frankfurt Night of the Museums transport provided. This does not include regular public transport.
