SWR Sommerfestival
Once again, Stuttgart will be the host of the SWR Sommerfestival. Every year, the public service broadcasting station for the south west of Germany (SWR), encompassing the federal states of Baden-Württemberg and Rheinland-Pfalz, celebrates with an extensive programme you won't want to miss. Music, poetry, screenings, children's events and much more await you.
SWR Sommerfestival 2026
From Friday, May 22, to Monday, May 25, you have the opportunity to join the SWR for its festivities. The programme is split into two locations: the small festival stage (Kleine Festivalbühne), with set events, and the festival mile (Festivalmile), offering participatory activities.
On stage, you will find music from local artists, and live recordings of your favourite TV and radio shows. With 15 exhibitors on location, you get to truly delve into the world of this broadcasting service. Take a quiz, become a reporter for a day or have a look behind the scenes of the SWR.
Charity Concert for the President
On May 24, the SWR is organising a charity concert for the Federal President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, continuing their tradition that started in 2006. The president will attend personally, and all revenue goes to social or cultural projects. This year, the children's foundation Die Arche and Herzenssache e. V. were selected. So enjoy the SWR Big Band, Max Mutzke and Fola Dada for a good cause. Tickets cost 49,00 euros.
Indulge in the SWR Sommerfestival
While some tickets have already sold out, many are still available, and the Family events are mostly free to enjoy. All tickets include public transport on the day of the event. You will find the small stage at the Jubiläumssäule in the heart of Stuttgart.
Do you have anything planned for Pentecost weekend yet? Whether you are alone, with your friends or family, the SWR Sommerfestival is the place to go.
