Night of the Open Doors
We all enjoy learning about our history and our roots, and what better way to do so than at one of the most iconic German attractions? In honour of its first-ever participation in the Berlin Festival of Lights, the Museum of Natural History in Berlin is set to host its own unique programme of events, including a special open house evening.

Discover the museum at night
For the first time ever, the Museum of Natural History is set to participate in the Berlin Festival of Lights. During the festival, the entire facade of the museum will be illuminated with a specially-designed video projection created by an artist.
To mark the opening weekend of the Festival, the Museum will host a unique open house evening on October 12. For one night only, it will be open to the public, free of charge, from 7pm to midnight. Visitors are invited to come and wander through the museums' different sections while sipping on cocktails and enjoying lounge music.

Night at the Museum in real life
The Museum of Natural History will also host different events throughout the Festival of Lights and the Berlin Illumination Festival, both of which run until October 20. A lecture on why we laugh and play will take place in the Dinosaur Hall on October 11 and a children’s party for families and their little ones on October 16.
Special flashlight tours of the museum dark exhibition rooms for both children and adults, which focus on how animals have adapted to living at night, will also take place on October 18, from 8pm onwards. To mark the end of the Festival of Lights, the Museum of Natural History invites you to attend its own Food Market, erected in the centre of the museum, where visitors can try healthy German food.
