Creative artists, creators who specialise in upcycling and sustainable makers come together every few months to present their unique products in Knust. Everything that is on display, from souvenirs to beautiful clothing items and accessories, is all sustainably and fairly made.

But what is upcycling you may ask? Upcycling is a technique, where you take an old, seemingly useless object, material or fabric, and use it to make something new, that will last. Rather than recycling waste materials to make something completely new, upcycling usually involves improving the object or fabric into something of a higher value and quality. 

Upcycling is the way forward

At the Hamburg Upcycle Market, you can expect to find everything from remade furniture pieces to fashion items like clothing and accessories, as well as jewellery, home decor and stationery. 

If you get hungry while wandering through the market, then fret not as there will be food stalls offering various German delicacies and treats. There will also be music playing while you shop, helping create the ideal relaxed, informal and fun browsing atmosphere.
