Ticket presales have begun for the 75th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival. Interested in what the silver screen has to offer this year? Here’s what’s on and how to get a seat in the theatre.

Ticket sales begin for 75th Berlinale

Ticket presales have begun for the 75th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival, ahead of opening night on February 13. During the film festival, which runs until February 23, 2025, 200 films will be screened at 15 cinemas in the capital.

Programme highlights include Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown (premiers February 14), Emma Mackey and Fiona Shaw in Hot Milk (premiers February 14), the story of Vera Brandes in Köln 75 (premiers February 16) and Richard Linklater’s Blue Moon (premiers February 18).

How to get tickets for the Berlinale 2025

For the first time, Berlinale tickets will be sold almost entirely online at berlinale.de. As usual, tickets go on sale at 10am three days before the screening takes place. The only exception is tickets for the festival’s Publikumstag (audience day) on February 23 - tickets for the Publikumstag already go on sale on February 10. Regardless of which kind of screening you want to attend, it is best to make a punctual purchase to secure a seat.

When you select a ticket, you’ll be redirected to the Eventim website, which hosts Berlinale ticket sales. You must create an Eventim account and each customer may buy two tickets per screening. The exception to this rule is for films screened as part of the programme for children and youth, for which one customer can buy a maximum of five tickets. Apart from films in the children and youth programme, attendees must be 18 or older.

If tickets for your top pick are sold out, festival organisers recommend revisiting the online ticket shop multiple times, especially in the hours leading up to the screening, as more tickets may become available.

How much do Berlinale tickets cost?

Standard Berlinale screening tickets cost 15 euros for the 2025 festival and 11 euros for screenings on the February 23 Publikumstag. For screenings hosted as the Berlinale Palast on Postdamer Platz - where the major productions are shown - tickets cost 20 euros.

Under 18s attending screenings which are part of the children and youth programme pay 6 euros for a ticket, and any accompanying adults pay 9 euros.
