A European-based subsidiary of a prominent Japanese chemical group operates out of Düsseldorf, Germany, serving as a key hub for the distribution and technical support of specialty chemical products across the continent. This entity focuses on advanced materials such as acrylic rubber, which are widely used in demanding applications including automotive, electronics, and industrial manufacturing.
The company is seeking a proactive and technically minded Sales and Marketing Manager to lead and grow our specialty rubber and advanced materials business across the EMEA region. The successful candidate will manage the sales of acrylic rubber, epichlorohydrin rubber, and other specialty synthetic rubbers, while also driving the market introduction and customer engagement for our cutting-edge silver nanoparticle solutions for low-temperature and pressureless sintering applications.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute regional sales and marketing strategies for acrylic rubber, special synthetic rubber, and epichlorohydrin rubber in EMEA.
Identify and develop Tier 1 – 2 OEM and component manufacturer customers in automotive, electronics, and industrial sectors.
Introduce and promote silver nanoparticle technologies for low-temperature/low-pressure sintering, including technical presentations and sample trials.
Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with both existing and new customers across the region.
Support technical discussions and coordinate with R&D teams in Japan for customized product development and feedback loops.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and positioning strategies.
Represent the company at trade fairs, industry events, and technical conferences across Europe.
Prepare business reports, pricing proposals, and monthly forecasts.
Liaise with logistics and customer service teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and after-sales service.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated background in sales, marketing, or business development within the automotive or chemical sectors
In-depth knowledge of chemical materials commonly used in automotive manufacturing
Hands-on experience collaborating with OEMs and Tier 1/Tier 2 automotive suppliers
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver compelling presentations
Solid analytical thinking and proficiency in conducting market research
Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional and international teams
Proficiency in both English and German, written and spoken
A bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline is advantageous
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
Prior experience in a Japanese organization or understanding of Japanese business culture, including collaboration with a Japanese head office and colleagues.

Salary: Up to €100,000 p.a.
