Highs of 23C expected over Easter weekend in Germany

The Easter holidays are fast approaching! Sunny weather is expected across Germany and highs of 23 degrees celsius are forecast for southern and eastern parts of the country.

Easter weekend: Sunny weather forecast for Germany

The long Easter weekend is shaping up to be one that is accompanied by pleasant weather. According to the German Weather Service (DWD) and Wetter.de, parts of the country will be as warm as 23 degrees on Easter Sunday, March 31.

Warmer temperatures will already make an appearance on Good Friday, March 29, with 16 degrees forecast for Berlin, Cologne and Frankfurt. Dresden is set to see highs of 20 degrees, and further south, those in Munich will see the mercury rise to 23 degrees.

Moving into Saturday, highs of 21 degrees will be felt across Berlin, Dresden and Freiburg, while Cologne residents and Frankfurters can expect sunshine and temperatures of between 19 and 20 degrees. In Munich, 23-degree heat will persist into Saturday.

23 degrees and sunshine forecast for Easter Sunday

For the main event of the holiday season, Easter Sunday, temperatures will creep up in more parts of the federal republic. Temperatures of 23 degrees will persist in Munich for one more day and spread up the northeast to Dresden.

Berliners and Frankfurters will feel a warm 22 degrees, while those in Cologne and Freiburg can expect something between 20 and 21 degrees. In February 2024, the EU’s Copernicus Climate Change Services recorded the ninth consecutive warmest month on Earth, with the trend expected to continue when figures come in for March.
