Embrace spring and the Easter spirit at the Easter Market in Nuremberg. Like many other German cities, the city of Nuremberg is garnering up for one of the favourite holidays of the year: Easter. Towns and villages, both big and small, will celebrate the holiday with coloured eggs, regional delicacies and various events, and an Easter Market is one of the best places to enjoy them all.

Easter goodies galore

The Easter Market in Nuremberg is the city's first market event of the year, wrapping up the dreary winter blues, and allowing everyone to start afresh in warmer temperatures. It is also the oldest market in the city.

With almost 100 booths scattered around the market grounds, visitors will have access to an array of products from household goods, textiles, ceramics and more. And to keep up with the tradition, Easter items such as painted eggs, Easter decorations and other Easter-related products are also on offer.

However, if you are not so much into Easter decor, there's no need to worry! The African Art stall will present items and decor from Africa, while other stalls will bring leather goods, puppet dolls, jewellery, shoes, clothes and even cosmetics from around the world.

Interestingly enough, this Nuremberg market also focuses on tableware and household products, which is where it gets its alternative name “Häferlesmarkt,” or the market of ceramic mugs.

More than just shopping for Easter

What is a trip to a market without all the culinary goodies? Not only will visitors find traditional market staples like Wurst and beer, but there will also be a wide array of other tasty treats.

At Franz and Ludmilla Mühlbauer, you can find organic sweets and candies, while Käse König will offer fresh cheese. Bienes Honighaus presents their honey and honey-related products and Moritz Krug will bring vegetarian and fish specialities to the market.

Attending Easter Market

The market is open from 10am to 7pm each day. The organisers recommend using public transportation when visiting (bus lines 36, 46 and 47). For more information on the Easter Market, visit the Nuremberg city website.
