A new subscription which allows unlimited cinema visits has recently launched in Germany. Here’s which theatres are participating in the offer.

Germany’s new cinema subscription

In mid-November Cinfinity launched a monthly subscription which allows holders to visit the cinema an unlimited number of times for just 12,50 euros per month.

Cinfinity subscriptions can be bought by anyone over 18 for a minimum of one year. Customers have the opportunity to cancel their subscription after one year, with a cancellation period of 30 days. It is also possible to take out a four-month subscription for 14,50 euros per month.

The subscription model was originally announced in July 2024, is run by cinema owners Ralf Thomsen and Martin Turowski at Cinfinity GmbH and is supported by the German Federal Film Board FFA.

Thomsen and Turowski claim that the app is an attempt to draw people out of streaming in their living rooms and into Germany’s cinemas, which are yet to recover to pre-coronavirus numbers.

Where can I use the Cinfinity subscription?

Cinfinity cardholders can use their subscription at over 60 cinemas across nine German federal states, including Baden-Württemberg, Berlin, Brandenburg, Hamburg, Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony-Anhalt and Schleswig-Holstein.

In Berlin, this includes Kino Central, Moviemento and Kino Toni. In Hamburg, Koralle Kino, Elbe Filmtheatre and Blankeneser Kino are all taking part and in Essen, Astra und Luna, Lichtburg, Filmstudio Glückauf, Galerie Cinema and Eulenspiegel Filmtheater.

If their local cinema is not yet participating, customers are encouraged to let owners know about that new subscription.
